Evidence for Creation

Some Interesting Evidence Supporting Creation
Water Canopy
There is significant evidence that the Earths climate used to be much more uniform and comfortably warmer than today. This is in keeping with the Bibles record in Genesis (Genesis 1:6-8). It is not in keeping with modern evolutionary beliefs. Fossils and some still frozen remains (the mammoths, for example) in the Arctic and (palm leaf imprints) in the Antarctic may be better explained if there was a firmament (thick cloud canopy) above the Earth prior to the Flood, as recorded in the Bible.
Fossil Fuels
The existence of fossil fuels defies evolutionary theory, a primary evidence that there was a Great Flood . Ask any diehard evolutionist who adamantly insists that there was not a global flood: "Where did coal and oil come from?, by what process were they created?" They have no logical answer. Yet oil and coal power our modern world. Buried at all sedimentary depths - they exist indeed. Modern evolutionary theory cannot explain why all this coal and oil is down there, sometimes at 10,000 feet or more.
Piri Reis Map
A few ancients did think the world was flat, but far more civilizations knew it to be round as evidenced by ancient maps like the Piri Reis Map. Who drew the original version of the Piri Reis Map? (a famous map - with sources pre-dating the time of Christopher Columbus, which displays Antarctica!) - it even shows mountains and rivers on the Antarctic continent. Scholars today concede that the ancient Greeks "believed" that there was a "legendary" continent far to the south (which Admiral Cook mistakenly identified to be Australia in 1770).
The Piri Reis Map of 1513 is believed to be a compilation of ancient maps predating Christopher Columbus. It shows North America, South America, Greenland and Antarctica which had not yet been discovered. The map, made by a Turkish Admiral Piri Ibn Haji Mehmed, became lost and was rediscovered in 1929 by a group of historians working in a pile of rubble of the harem section of the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul (Constatinople). Modern scientists were astonished to discover that the map included precise data on the southern polar continent, Antarctica, supposedly not discovered until 1818. A recent exploratory profile made by seismic soundings, revealed mountains and valleys beneath the ice cap of Antarctica that matched the markings on the Piri Reis map. In the January, 1966, issue of Fate magazine, Professor Charles H. Hapgood explained the sensational discovery commenting on studies made by Arlington T. Mallerey, an authority on ancient maps;
"Now this was extraordinary. In the first place, nobody is supposed to have discovered Antarctica until 1818, three hundred years after Piri Reis, and it is regarded as unthinkable that the Greeks, Romans, Babylonians or Phoenicians could have sailed that far. In the second place, the ice cap in Antarctica is supposed to be millions of years old, and therefore to have been in existence long before man evolved on earth. Mallerey's suggestion (that someone had mapped the south polar continent before the ice cap originated) appeared outrageous and scientists in general refused to concern themselves with it."
The rivers, mountain ranges, islands, desserts, and plateaus, were drawn with unusual accuracy. As an example, Greenland was represented as being two separate islands. This was confirmed just recently by a French polar expedition; their seismic soundings beneath the surface indicated that ice covers the space between the two islands.
Trilobites
In 1968, 43 miles northwest of Delta, Utah, William J. Meister found human shoe prints within a 2-inch-thick slab of rock. Also in that slab were obvious trilobite fossils, one of them was squashed under the "heel." The 10-inch-long shoe print is at the left, and the rock mold of it is at the right.
According to evolutionists, trilobites became extinct 240 million years before humans evolved. Miraculously, a few creationists got word of this find which could be explained as an antideluvian shoe print. Evolutionists believe that trilobites became extinct long before man invented comfortable footwear with heels. It is ludicrous to believe that this pre-Flood dude may have stepped on that poor defenseless trilobite... around 5,000 years ago.
Piltdown Man
In 1912 Charles Dawson discovered the first of two skulls found in the Piltdown quarry in Sussex, England, skulls of an apparently primitive hominid, an ancestor of man. Piltdown man, or Eoanthropus dawsoni to use his scientific name, was a sensation. He was the expected "missing link" a mixture of human and ape with the noble brow of Homo sapiens and a primitive jaw. Best of all, he was British! As the years went by and new finds of ancient hominids were made, Piltdown man became an anomaly that didn't fit in, a creature without a place in the human family tree. Finally, in 1953, the truth came out. Piltdown man was a hoax, the most ancient of people who never were. Prominent evolutionists persisted for 40 years to support the belief in the renowned Piltdown Man. Leading evolutionists jumped on the bandwagon and trumpeted the cause, which turned out to be a hoax. As everyone now knows the single filed down orangutan jaw bone with scratched teeth and partial human skull fragments, both one-of-a-kind and chemically treated to look old, were a poor foundation to use as (finally some) tangible "solid evidence" supporting evolution. Evolutionists then decided to conceal their "concocted" discovery of Piltdown Man after news of the hoax became public. Piltdown Man is one of the most famous frauds in the history of science.
The Mayan Calendar
During the 17th century Archbishop James Usher calculated the time of creation to approximately 4,000 BC. Some theologians do not agree with this calculation and believe that generational gaps exist in the biblical genealogical records before the time of King David. Nevertheless, most of them agree that Ushers calculations can serve as a point of reference to compare opinions and theories about the Earths age. The Mayan calendar coincidentally claims to have started in 3114 BC. Whose birthday or what major event does this recall? Perhaps it's nothing. Perhaps this early advanced civilization should not even be mentioned here. Or perhaps there are clues to be gleaned. If ancient Chinese pictographs can correlate with Biblical accounts of Genesis, there may be other as yet unresearched distant sources. Did you know that the Planet Venus's year is 583.9 days long? The ancient Mayans recorded it to be 584; hey, that's not too bad, especially considering the fact that the Earth is also in motion and our period of rotation had to first be accurately subtracted.
Noahs Ark
Josephus (AD 37 or 38-circa 101), a well trained and articulate rabbi was commissioned to write a comprehensive "History of the Jews" for the Romans. He was a personal friend of the Roman emperor Flavius, which gave him unparalleled access to the best scholars and libraries of the Roman Empire to research his story. He drew upon a myriad of distinguished contemporary and past writers from around the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern world in the course of his research. This was 2,000 years ago (so also then approximately 4,000 years after the Creation, as recorded in Genesis). When he gets to the story of Noah, the Ark, and Mt. Ararat he draws together collaborative writings from numerous non-Jewish sources:
Josephus, Book 1, "¼And after seven days he sent out a dove, to know the state of the ground; which came back to him covered with mud, and bringing an olive branch: hereby Noah learned that the earth was become clear of the flood. So after he had stayed seven more days, he sent the living creatures out of the ark; and both he and his family went out, when he also sacrificed to God, and feasted with his companions. However, the Armenians call this place, (The Place of Descent) for the ark being saved in that place; its remains are shown there by the inhabitants to this day.
Now all the writers of barbarian histories make mention of this flood, and of this ark; among whom is Berosus the Chaldean. For when he is describing the circumstances of the flood, he goes on thus: It is said there is still some part of this ship in Armenia, at the mountain of the Cordyaeans; and that some people carry off pieces of the bitumen, which they take away, and use chiefly as amulets for the averting of mischiefs. Hieronymus the Egyptian also, who wrote the Phoenician Antiquities, and Mnaseas, and a great many more books, makes mention of the same. Also, Nicolaus of Damascus, in his ninety-sixth book, has a particular interest; where he speaks thus: There is a great mountain in Armenia, over Minyas, called Baris, upon which it is reported that many who fled at the time of the Deluge were saved; and that one who was carried in an ark came on shore upon the top of it; and that the remains of the timber were a great while preserved. This might be the man about whom Moses the legislator of the Jews wrote. "
Authority and Divine Inspiration of the Bible
The Bible, although it wasnt written for scientific purposes, presents scientific principles in the areas of:
1. Astronomy:
Early astronomers counted about 4000 stars visible to the naked eye from all points on earth. Before the invention of the telescope, early astronomers regarded visible stars as unique and exclusive. The Bible on the other hand have always regarded them as countless accurately comparing them as the sand on the seashore.
"I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore." (Genesis 22:17a NIV)
"I will make the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who minister before me as countless as the stars of the sky and as measureless as the sand on the seashore." (Jeremiah 33:22 NIV).
Counting the stars might have seemed a scientific impossibility before the invention of the telescope. But now with estimates of 1026 billion stars these verses seem like supernatural scientific insight.
Early astronomers originally thought that all stars were alike and that they shined with the same intensity. This was so because through a telescope each star looks like a point of light. Modern analysis of the light from stars allowed scientists to discover that stars have different fingerprints thereby shining differently. The Bible conveyed the idea that heavenly bodies shined different.
"The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor." (1 Corinthians 15:41 NIV)
Critics often misinterpret Psalm 19:6, "It (the sun) rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat." as saying that the passage is based on the unscientific notion that the sun revolves around the earth. They fail to recognize that the subject or center of the chapter is not us or the earth but God. The psalmist is not even talking about the relative movement of the earth and the sun. Even the context of the message shows the fact that we (represented by the earth) should rotate around God (represented by the Sun) and not the other way around. The writer only wanted to communicate the fact that all of creation including the heavens reveals the glory and majesty of God, and that the sky we see is testimony to the craftsmanship of God. From the vantage point of earth, there is no heavenly body so wonderful as the sun. The main point being that nobody who has seen or felt the sun (not even a blind man since he can feel it) crossing the sky is without excuse for not believing in God. The passage does not necessarily contradict the fact that the sun rotates around a center in the Milky Way (our universe is slightly located off to the side of our galaxy) or that our galaxy is moving with respect to other galaxies. Remember that motion of the sun is relative to a point of reference, therefore the sun's circuit is actually from one end of the heavens to the other. The psalmist was only using the most scientific language he could have to describe God through the sun's apparent motion relative to the earth.
2. Geophysics:
It was not long ago that scientists believed the earth was flat while the Bible used the Hebrew word khug to describe the earths sphericity or roundness.
"He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers." (Isaiah 40:22a NIV).
Ancient civilizations pictured the earth suspended on the back of animals or other objects always raising the question of what suspended the earth. The Bible tells that the earth hangs from nothing that we could physically see (very much like actual gravitational forces).
"he suspends the earth over nothing." (Job 26:7b NIV)
3. Hydrology:
Science discovered the cycle of water, evaporation of liquid into vapor and condensation of vapor into rain or snow. The Bible outlined the cycle of water a long time before scientists ever did.
"The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises. The wind blows to the south and turns to the north; round and round it goes, ever returning on its course. All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again." (Ecclesiastes 1:5-7 NIV)
These verses show the harmony of Scripture and the sciences. Note the poetic references to evaporation and condensation in verse 7. God Himself authored the great laws of the universe. The water cycle condenses water into rain and snow which is then carried to the ocean where it evaporates and blows over the continents again. This is an outline of the water cycle on earth.
There are many biblical references to water and none conflicts with modern hydrological science.
"How great is God--beyond our understanding! The number of his years is past finding out. He draws up the drops of water, which distill as rain to the streams; the clouds pour down their moisture and abundant showers fall on mankind. Who can understand how he spreads out the clouds, how he thunders from his pavilion? See how he scatters his lightning about him, bathing the depths of the sea. This is the way he governs the nations and provides food in abundance. He fills his hands with lightning and commands it to strike its mark. His thunder announces the coming storm; even the cattle make known its approach." (Job 37:26-33 NIV)
God creates and sustains the amazing water cycle of evaporation and condensation (see verse 27). The recognition of this is a remarkable insight for Job's day. Nature shows God's greatness and His presence to those who have eyes to see.
4. Physiology:
The Bible makes very clear that blood is the life sustaining element in a body.
"For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life." (Leviticus 17:11 NIV)
This was written centuries before William Harvey described the circulation of blood in 1616. The necessity of blood in life of the flesh was revealed long before it was discovered by scientists. It was revealed to show God's divinely ordained remedy for the problem of sin. The Scriptures insist that atonement for sin is not possible apart from the shedding of blood (Hebrews 9:22). The biblical emphasis upon the blood of the sacrifice, and ultimately of Christ, is indicative of the giving of the life of an innocent victim (Jesus, God incarnate) to atone for the guilty. Most people believe that God must be an ogre to allow so much death and suffering in the world. They just dont understand that after Adam and Eve (who were our best representatives in the Garden of Eden since they were created perfect, not imperfect like us) sinned, God instituted death as a vehicle to redeem man and prevent him from been eternally separated from Him. Death is a blessing to those who believe in Jesus Christ, but a curse to those who dont. In a sense death is the vehicle that God uses to draw towards Him the person who puts his trust in Jesus as savior. Just like death came through the person of Adam, life came through the person of Jesus (Gods greatest gift).
The Bible says that God created Eve from the rib of Adam. The woman is constructed by God personally and presented to the man as a divinely appointed provision.
"And the LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man." (Genesis 2:22 NIV)
The Hebrew verb for made means "to build". The expansion of one small part into a complete body makes sense in todays understanding of molecular structure and DNA.
5. Basic Laws of Science:
First Law of Thermodynamics: The laws of thermodynamics, discovered in the 19th century through painstaking experimentation, govern the nature of all thermodynamic processes and place limits on them. The first law states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed although it can be stored in various forms and can be transferred from one system to another. The Bible demonstrated this principle through Gods work in creation. God used a determined amount of energy to create the world which was finished in six days.
"Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work." (Genesis 2:1-2 NIV)
Verse 2 should be translated "had ended," indicating that the work of creation was completed on the sixth day. God's "rest" connotes completion or cessation, not weariness. It involves special consecration of time to the transformation of energy, spiritual refreshment, rejuvenation, and service.
"And yet his work has been finished since the creation of the world." (Hebrews 4:3 NIV)
This verse shows the finite nature of the work of creation. Thermodynamically as well as biblically speaking, work as creation is not a perpetual action but a terminable action. God used a certain amount of energy to perform the work of creation plus all the stored internal energy present in the universe.
Second Law of Thermodynamics: Statistical thermodynamics provide a measure for atomic disorder of systems. Ludwig Boltzmann (1844-1906) associated a thermodynamic property called Entropy with the disorder of a system and stated that the disorder of the universe always increases as time goes on. A practical example can be used to compare the measure of disorder between a whole egg and a scrambled egg. There are more ways to construct a scrambled egg from its constituents than there are to construct a whole egg. If you drop a whole egg, it will scramble itself spontaneously but it never works the other way. Therefore the conclusion, that according to the second law of thermodynamics, matter left to itself tends toward chaos and randomness, not greater organization and complexity (evolution demands exactly the opposite process, which is observed nowhere in nature). The second law also states that the usefulness of energy is decreasing. Energy is conserved in quantity but degraded in quality and much of this usefulness is lost in heat. If our universe is growing old, there must have been a definite beginning since anything growing old must have been young at one time. Scripture often refers to this universal deterioration.
"In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded." (Psalm 102:25-26 NIV)
"that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God." (Romans 8:21 NIV)
6. Tri-Universe:
The doctrine of the Trinity states that God is manifest in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each is fully God. Critics accuse Christians of unsound mouth in saying 1+1+1=1 rather than 3. They say such a system does not exist so neither the Son nor the Holy Spirit can be God. But in scripture we see the logical order 1) God the Father - unseen cause, 2) God the Son - reveals the Father to man and executes the will of the Father, and 3) the Holy Spirit - reveals the Son to men. All three are eternal and equally God.
The fact that the universe displays the triune character of the Creator is seen in Scripture.
"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." (Romans 1:20 NIV)
The universe can be thought as a continuum of space, matter, and time. The universe is not a triad - part space, part matter, and part time. It is instead a true trinity - it is all space, all matter (includes energy), and all time.
Each component of the universe is also a trinity itself. Even space consists of three dimensions - all dimensions are equally necessary. To find the volume of space one multiplies the dimensions. Thus the math of the Trinity is not 1+1+1=1 but instead 1x1x1=1.
Time can be understood as future, present, and past. The future is the unseen, inexperienced source, the present is time manifested, and the past is experienced but no longer seen. The unseen future becomes manifest in the present, and the future proceeds to the past.
Matter is unseen energy generating motion. It is the substance of which all physical objects are composed. It is the material substance that occupies space, has mass, and is composed predominantly of atoms consisting of protons, neutrons and electrons (another trinity). It constitutes the observable universe which is interconvertible with energy.
We can therefore arrive at the conclusion that the universe (made up of space, time and matter) is a trinity of trinities.
The argument for the trinitarian character of matter can be easily explained with water. Liquid water, solid ice and water vapor can coexist, in thermal equilibrium, at only one set of values of pressure and temperature which in Thermodynamics is called the triple state, triple point or triple-phase point. Water has more than one triple state. Using a laboratory device called a triple-point cell, scientists discovered several solid phases of water other than common ice at high pressures. At least seven (biblical number usually representing totality and perfection) triple states of water have been identified. Water is also a good example of the Divine Trinity where: water vapor (invisible phase independent of shape or volume which tends to expand indefinitely) = God the Father (John 6:46) , solid ice (visible phase that can temporarily retain a definite size and shape just like a rock) = God the Son (1 Corinthians 10:3-4), and liquid water (visible phase that is able to flow and completely fill a vessel containing it) = God the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:11). Water can exist in three different phases that are none other than the same substance composed of two atoms of Hydrogen with one atom of Oxygen- namely water. In the same manner, God is the one and only supreme being (Deuteronomy 6:4), creator of the universe (Genesis 1:1), who exists in three persons(Matthew 28:19, Acts 5:3-4 & Hebrews 1:8).
