Beyond the Hype
Pursuing the truth of Christianity

By William R. Cunningham

Beyond the HypeBeyond the Hype reveals the real Christian faith by objectively examining the claims of hype from preachers and teachers and comparing them with actual Christian doctrine. This book will help you become free of the bondage of hype religion so you can pursue a genuine, intimate relationship with God. In this sensible, down-to-earth book, pastor William R. Cunningham celebrates the honest ministers and rebukes the hype preachers in many Christian churches, conferences, conventions, and other gatherings, for deceiving people instead of nourishing them with the word of God. He examines the scriptural basis for their often false and misleading claims and points you to the truth about God, Jesus Christ, the Bible, and the Christian faith. Beyond the Hype exposes:

  • The tithe hype
  • The prayer hype
  • The pastor hype
  • The prosperity-and-faith hype
  • The abundant-life hype
  • The prophecy hype
  • The healing hype

By moving beyond the hype from the pulpit, anyone can learn to find answers, follow Jesus, and pursue an authentic and supremely rewarding Christian faith.

People have pledged their allegiance to the pastor instead of God.They have given their churches much of their income and time in hopes that they would be blessed by God for doing so. People follow the doctrines of men and women instead of seeking the truth that God plainly reveals to us in the bible. The result of the hype that is preached is that people do not seek the kingdom of God as a priority, but instead the priority is to seek the treasures that are on the earth. They don’t read and study the bible because, in their minds, their church leaders tell them all that they need to know. I have tried for over twenty years to teach people to know the truth about God, Jesus Christ, the bible, and the Christian faith in general. This book is another instance of that effort, namely to promote the pursuit of the truth. I desire that people would develop a personal and intimate relationship with God and that that relationship would transcend any church denomination or religious affiliation. Basically I would like for you to know God for yourself. Let’s get beyond the hype coming from the pulpit and pursue the truth that is revealed to us in the holy bible.
