sex in two lives
Pastor Bill
I started to read an article the other day that I thought was going to be about sexuality in a marriage. However, I quickly discovered that it was not about that at all. Instead, the article was about men who live two lives in regards to sexual preference. The article was about a book that a man wrote revealing the Down Low, which is a man who has sex with women and men. These men could be married and of course have sex with their wives, but on the other hand they have sex with other men.
Now right away you can see that there are a couple of things wrong here. Let me list these below.
- Having sex with another besides your spouse is adultery
- Having sex with the same gender is homosexuality (lesbianism)
Neither of these are acceptable behavior to God and therefore the Christian faith. The author seems to think that we should accept such behavior because that is simply the way that those men are, namely bisexual. I am always amazed by the reasoning of people sometimes. Just because a person is a certain way does not condone that way. What if a person said, "I kill people because that is the way that I am so you should accept me." We would say that such is absurd. However, saying that we should accept a homosexual or bi-sexual because the person happens to be that way is indeed just as ridiculous.
Instead, these people should seek help. There is something very wrong going on inside of them because they have replaced the natural and normal use of sex with a perversion and on top of all of that, they want to be accepted. True we shouldn't hate these people or even condemn them. We can however rebuke them and let them know that the homosexual and bi-sexual lifestyle is wrong. It is sin. It is not consistent with the Way of God and therefore should NOT be accepted.
If a person has a disease then that person would want to be cured. He or she doesn't accept his or her condition. He or she would fight until the end whether cure or death. So why should we accept the disease of sexual perversions. Let's pray for these people that they would be delivered from their condition. Let's pray with them that the spirit that binds them and causes them to practice sexual perversions would leave them. We don't accept that lifestyle and we do not condone it, but we can love those who are trapped by it and help them to be free.

eliminate Unnecessary stress in marriage
By Pastor Bill
This question always comes up. Why does a man cheat on his wife (and vice versa)? Why would a wife leave her husband for someone else? It is interesting that people think that things happen suddenly in a marriage relationship. Surely you don't think that a person gets married and right away begins to cheat on his or her spouse (assuming the relationship is monogamous from the beginning). Drastic events like cheating or roaming eyes do not occur suddenly but gradually.
A relationship takes work and that fact is neglected about every time we are asked questions like this. Marriage just doesn't coast along and you live happily ever after. Marriage is a work in progress. As soon as you stop working at it is the moment that the marriage begins to fade. It is important to keep the fire burning so to speak. We all want to be happy so it would behoove the husband and the wife to work at making the other happy.
When you stop actively loving each other and allow the fire to fade away then you introduce unnecessary stress and temptation into the relationship. Why does your wife constantly roam towards other men? Because she has nothing your way to roam to. What are you giving her to roam your way? If a man is always checking out the ladies then that is probably, though not always the case, he cannot check you out or what he sees is something that he doesn't want. So give your spouse a reason to look your way. Give your spouse a reason to desire you and fulfill that desire. The Bible says that hope deferred makes the heart sick. Though that scripture wasn't talking about marriage or sex, the principle does apply just the same.
If you lead your spouse on sexually or sensually and don't deliver then you introduce unnecessary stress and temptation on him or her. This in itself won't necessarily cause him or her to cheat. However, why add the stress in the first place. I personally try my best to eliminate stress in my life because stress is a killer. It can cause the demise of your health and relationships. Why should your wife have to fight sensual demons all day because you don't satisfy her and vice versa. Why should your husband fight companionship from another because you won't be with him? He shouldn't
For example, my wife and I just finished restaining our deck. It looks great. However, what was important for me was that we did it together. We also have other projects to work on together. I'm sure many men would agree that they would prefer their wives to be involved in what they do. I think it is pitiful that a wife leaves a husband to do all of the manual labor or that the husband leaves the wife to do all of the household chores and "women tasks." No. Husband and wife should share in all work and help each other. Above all that they should work as a team and build a relationship that would withstand any temptation and be free from stress.
