THE CALL ON MY LIFE
"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:31-32
My ministry is simply to preach the Gospel that liberates. I am not a pastor or anything like that. However, I am a man who has spent much time studying the Bible, talking with pastors, and ministers, praying, attending classes and seminars. I believe that the power to save as well as to deliver us from bondage comes from God. Christians can be liberated to do all that God wants if His word is studied. The Bible reveals that we can be destroyed by ignorance so Christians should know the word of God intimately. Jesus said in Matthew 4:4 that we live by the word of God as well as physical food. I should also add that it is important that Christians know God personally.
I believe in scripture truths and not religious dogma. There are too many teachings that originate from the ideas of men instead of God. These ideas may not be evil or bad in themselves, however if they are taught as being the word of God then trouble is immanent. I believe in simply telling people the truth from scripture. This requires a working knowledge of scripture and knowledge of the people, customs, habits, etc. of the people that wrote the scriptures and the times they were writing about.
I am classified by most people as a teacher. However, all I do is tell people what I have learned from the study of the Bible. It appears that God has purposed me to teach (relay Biblical facts and principles to others). My goal is to get Christians to study the Bible for themselves so that they can hear from God personally and establish the truth from His word firmly in their own hearts. This is preferred over the spoon feeding by pastors, ministers, and evangelists that many Christians settle for. I am most happy when I share the word with someone, along with follow-ups, and watch them grow in the things of God as I grow. It does my heart good to see someone develop into what God wants of them. My personal ministry can be summarized as follows:
"Promote the pursuit of the knowledge of God's word, which is truth, apart from church and denominational doctrines, religious organizations, and personal understandings."
